I suppose it would've been better to say I wish they would change it, I usually love the amount of colour in Halo games, but the super-saturated bright look just seems like a really odd aesthetic choice for that level.

Agreed, as I said before it looks too glossy. Oh well, the original graphics are there and it'll be ok to go through once with the new look.

I am going to buy the shit out of the vinyl release of the remastered soundtrack. Do want. Also, I wanted to point out some of the best news from this weekend (it's been all over GAF and it's on FUD, but it hasn't been mentioned here yet). If you have Reach installed on your hard drive, you can play the entirety of Reach multiplayer from Anniversary. Hero of the weekend: Shishka has been working to try and get the M6D back into the Halo sandbox as an employee of 3 different companies (CA, Bungie, 343i). Playlist manager qualms aside, what a badass.

Hero of the weekend: Shishka

It was really good to see him in his new role, he suits it.

So, by the time we found the tiny HCEA two-screen display in the back corner of the xbox section of the show floor, they had already closed the line for the day. The area to queue up for the game was quite small with only room for about 10 people total to line up at any time. There were only six people waiting, and none of them seemed very excited.

And I can understand, it looks like they were playing a section of the level Halo with the DMR.

The crowds were much more rabid and expansive for Battlefield 3.

Yeah, it's Firefight. In a recent podcast or interview (can't remember) they were making it sound like this particular section of the Campaign was essentially made twice, as Certain Affinity made their own space in the Reach engine for Firefight and Saber made the graphical overhaul for their Campaign engine. Three times if you count Bungie actually making the awesome sauce in the first place.

Yep, CA did it up in the Reach engine for Firefight, and Sabre did it in their graphics engine that runs on top of the H1 engine for the H1 campaign.

The three time-based cheevo's are anti-fun in pure form. Nothing like a ticking clock to really yank away the good times.

I do like the fact that these achievements look like they'll take some actual effort and skill and planning to get. Sometimes feels like most achievements these days are either exercises in hand-holding or and excuse to hide a boring grindfest so I suppose these seem to buck those trends at the very least.

Not looking forward to the Reach Anniversary Maps achievements.

Kinect for Anniversary Revealed - Analayse and Library Modes

A scanning mode similar to Metroid Prime? A model viewer to appreciate some of the new assets from any angle? A mini in-game encyclopedia?

SWEET!

But oh. I can't use any of it. Really, really disappointing. What a horrible idea. I refuse to buy a Kinect no matter how much sweet Halo content is held hostage.

I really like the achievements, but many of them seem extremely difficult, so unfortunately I probably won't have time to 1000/1000 this game. Unless there's some kind of cheap way to get them through online co-op with a more talented compadre.

Pretty sure a number of those Achievements (Two Betrayals with a plasma pistol and a shotgun) are designed to encourage co-op play. We got this.

Coco, if I complete any coop mission on Legendary will I still get "Standard Operating Brocedure". I'm also hoping that I won't have to go through the game on Normal, Heroic, and then Legendary in order to get the campaign completion achievements. Some games still don't stack achievements, it's so frustrating.
