First of all, it bothers me that Dr. Halsey is such a bitch to Carter when they meet. I always pictured her as a mother figure who is very nice. Then again, she is nice to Jorge and that's probably because he's a Spartan II and not a III which she had nothing to do with and probably considers sub-standard or not "real" Spartans. Oh and according to the Halsey journal Miranda Keyes is Dr. Halsey's and Captain Jacob Keyes' daughter?! WTF! I'm sorry but that's lame.

The reason why she's so bitchy towards Carter, if you read the Journal, she's just confirmed something she always suspected - they took her work and started up a new project without her consent or knowledge. The meeting with Carter is the first time she can prove it and in the flesh no less. She doesn't sound too pleased to know that Jorge is with them and that Jorge has taken to "messing around" with his armour like his cool buddies. But yeah, you do she the mother figure in her when she talks with Jorge.

Really gotta buckle down and finish reading her journal... I just can't pull myself away from the game long enough... It just goes to show how little we actually know about these character's lives...

Amazing. Lots of details and new information that changes a lot about our understanding of the Halo universe. It seems the fate of humanity was all intertwined in one big 'family', rather than a handful of individuals. Seriously, think about if you took Halsey, Cortana, Keyes, and Miranda out of the picture. Humanity would have been even more screwed. I'm trying to find some connections between the data pads and Halsey's journal, but it's going to take another read through...

Does anyone know a place where I can read or download a transcript of Halsey's journal? I just don't want to have to carry the journal around everywhere and damage such a nice collectible... Edit: Also, the sooner the better, because I'm going on a trip Thursday and would love to have that to read through...

someone would probably have to scan it.

Also i think Miranda being Halsey's kid made a lot of sense and was one of the better additions to the halo universe. Lets face it, if i had to choose either the fact that the reach invasion started over a month before it was depicted in the books or any other halo story or that fact that halsey had a kid with keyes, i know which one i would pick as less lame. Not to mention its been hinted at before in FOR, and his wife is never mentioned anywhere else.

I would have preferred Miranda never existing in the first place.

Por que? As far as characters go I enjoyed her because she was far less stereotypical than our other heroes (although she did have the most cringing line of the entire series, for me: "To War".)

that was aweful writing, but overall she was a decent character. I just feel she was kinda forced into the whole johnson love lol.

Miranda was a bad character and Bungie should feel bad.

Reasoning?

She's an empty shell devoid of emotion. Her only purpose is to serve as a container for bad writing and to be killed off for a cheap attempt at "drama".

If only it had been her that died in the 1st one and her father that was in the rest, methinks I would like that better, lol.

The purpose Bungie intended for Miranda was to fill the massive shoes left by Cpt. Keyes, to have another human character that was relevant to the story besides the Chief and (I guess) Sgt. Johnson. Everything about her feels incredibly forced, from her role to her awful, pointless dialogue.
