Oh, and this article really just leaves you with the impression that they aren't even trying...

Seriously, it's either that, or everyone working for Sony is massively incompetent: PSN password reset page exploited.

Comparing Sony's laser problem that affected maybe 1 in 5 consoles to their entire online infrastructure being completely offline and every single user of that service having their identity compromised is ... ... ... ... I'm sorry, there's not a word I can think of to convey how unsound that comparison is. It's like saying, "Oh, people will forget this terrorist attack in 3 years. Bobby Johnson down the street? He got into a fight with an Arab guy 3 years ago and nobody remembers that."

More proof that Sony doesn't know their head from their ass. The password reset site they're using so PSN users can reset their password had an exploit which allowed anyone to reset and change another user's password.

The PSN password reset site is currently offline.

Of all the posts on this thread, I think that one is actually a PSN Win.

The new PS3 firmware is causing the console to overheat and shut-down while playing some games.

It's like saying, "Oh, people will forget this terrorist attack in 3 years. Bobby Johnson down the street? He got into a fight with an Arab guy 3 years ago and nobody remembers that."

My statement wasn't meant to be an analogy. It was meant to show the reality of gaming business. Average Joe doesn't care about anything so long as he can play his games and no event has affected him directly and was not remedied.

I'd also be shocked if more than 1 in 5 PSN users had their identity stolen.

The new PS3 firmware is causing the console to overheat and shut-down while playing some games.

Update: They have no idea what the problem is. Thread on GAF is claiming it's a 360 problem as well.

Sony Ericsson Canada, Sony Music Japan and Sony Music Greece get hit. It's getting funny again, wonder if Sony is regretting going after hackers yet?

I chose Infamous and LBP. Don't know why. I also took 2 of their PSP games since I could. I'll activate my PS+ when I get back from vacation. Assuming they don't get anon'd again.

InFamous is actually pretty good, it's great advertising for the sequel since I had practically zero interest in it before, the PSN hack was probably the best thing that could have happened for that developer.

I meant I don't know why about LBP, sorry. Yeah, I'm looking forward to playing Infamous. I downloaded the demo as soon as I got my PS3, and was going to buy it, but there were more interesting games for cheaper in the back catalog. Never got around to getting it.

Same here.

Played it, beat it, loved it. Will for sure be picking up two here soon.
