I've got a question for the HDMI gurus. My video playback from DVD's does not work from my 360 via HDMI. It says "secure hdcp link not found," but still plays audio. I've checked my monitor and it's supposed to be HDCP compliant.

Monitor: LG 32LH30-UA
HDMI Cable: On Monoprice.com
Xbox 360: In the dashboard beta.

Tried that, I bought 7 of those cables I linked. No dice. In addition, there's no way I'm going to buy a cable locally, they're like ~40-80 bucks depending on what it is. That's why I bought those. In addition, my research so far has lead to the conclusion that the cable is not the issue. It's likely that one of the two devices is not operating correctly in regards to DCHP, or they're not talking to each other quickly enough. Apparently, LG is well known to have DCHP problems, and the Xbox dashboard is in a beta stage.

Sounds like it's time to get a HDTV.

That's a gigantic waste of money. Buy a different monitor if it comes down to it, but do yourself a favor and don't get an HDTV.

Sell it immediately and buy a 12" CRT.

I also doubt it's the HDMI cables you got, it definitely sounds like some problem between the HDCP keys transferring. I would power off and then disconnect the TV and leave it off for a bit for a complete reset. Make sure your 360 is powered off when you turn the TV back on, then go ahead and plug in the HDMI cable into a different HDMI port on the TV. Turn on the 360 and see if you can load up a movie.

??

You specifically listed it as a monitor in your first post. And yes, LG also makes monitors.

You're a gigantic waste of money. =(

I mean it only makes sense to have a badass tv that is the central hub for all of my gaming needs allowing me to play my PC games on a big screen, enjoy all my consoles, and sit back on my "comfy couch" while I do so.

Long shot; do you have another 360 you could try with the TV/monitor? It would help determine whether it's your TV or your 360.

I know you were joking but you can borrow it anytime. I actually have plans in Aubry on Wednesday night already.

But that's what I do, except with a far better pixel density than any TV could even hope to accomplish.

I'm up to my eyeballs in school until Thursday night. Just let me know if you're in the area on a weekend, but I'd really appreciate it.

What size monitor do you have?

That just sounds like, to me, that you've never even attempted it, and I have to disagree with you there. Why would you need something at such of a high resolution on a smaller screen? You really wouldn't be able to tell the difference on anything higher than 1080p anyway (not to mention having decreased performance) so pixel density is a retarded reason not to have a hdtv.

That's my thinking too Dual, and that's why I asked what size monitor he uses.

I thought it was established that Drew uses a 7-incher... Or am I in the wrong thread, again?
