What's the one present you're most excited about either giving or receiving this holiday season?

Sennheiser HD 595s. My mom's getting them for me. She's the best.

Well I'm kinda excited about everything I'm getting. Even though I'm buying some of it. All 3 volumes of Mega 64, Torque Game Engine: Programming All-In-One book, Wii with games, and probably some anime. =)

Just a random question since you mentioned that item: Have you by any chance called Circuit City Direct asking about buying one, because my mom works part time answering phones and she said she had a kid who called asking about one. Anyway, my list currently has: Desktop Computer Books it's a short list, and it's pretty much all I can think of...

There isn't anything I'm asking for. There's nothing I really need. I'll just leave it up to family to get me whatever they want.

Sure there are things I'd like to have and would enjoy, but not enough to ask for them really. I'd like an I-phone for example but I'd never ask someone to buy it for me. I'm 27 and have 3 small kids of my own so my perspective on life and gifts and Christmas is quite a bit different than when I was 14 like you. :)

I really can't think of anything that I want either. When I want something I usually just buy it.

It's interesting the way you put that. As a kid I remember asking my mom for lots of things, or just generally being excited about the stuff I would get. Now, as an adult, it's no longer "what would be awesome to have," it's "what do I need?" I think that's a good way to think about it. It helps you to appreciate what you do have (which, for most of us, is a ton), and for me at least, it makes the stuff I do get all that more special.

That being said, I visited my mom last week and asked for a new external HDD.
