When it comes to mindless slaying action, which is what 343 is aiming for to make the franchise even more mainstream, Halo 4 can be fun. When it comes to good, tight map design that creates close fought, tense battles between organised teams, Halo 4 is terrible. Your example of Ivory Tower reminded me of this clip I have on Reflection:

Note: gameplay bears no similarity to Ivory Tower of old; close, tactical games now impossible; old Ivory Tower fans alienated; dick heads like me jet packing onto sniper spawn to steal said sniper.

Seriously, one of my favorites of this generation. I couldn't find one hidden orb, and this was back when I was compulsive about Achievements. Fuck that noise.

I'm one godforsaken, illusive pigeon away from 100% completion on GTA IV. Achievements are evil.

I'm a little behind with it but yeah, Sons of Anarchy is great. Seems like Hunnam carried over the SAMCRO swagger and simply swapped the bike for a building sized robot. Good stuff.

Ok, so Pacific Rim is nuts. I loved it.

Season passes, dlc, map packs etc. have all made me sick of playing mp online now. I bought the ltd edition version of halo 4 because I already knew they'd be releasing maps (that they had probably already made in time for release) at a later date, but it seems I won't even go a whole year before seeing "you do not have the required content". As someone said, it just creates crappy fragmentation in the online playerbase and it makes it almost impossible to get the new achievements they release with the maps. Also, i'm not buying my ODST armour, f that.
