An almost two-years-dead thread getting resurrected?
You bet.
Right on man, right on.

Nothing. I used to use Rainmeter until I realized it was useless resource-hogging shit. What tools or programs do you use to customize your desktop? I had XP, but now I have Windows 7, and none of the programs that I used work with 7.
That's just Windows 7 with the taskbar on top of the screen and small icons enabled. I hate putting shit on my desktop, so I just have a "desktop" folder in My Documents that I use like one would normally use a desktop.

You can change the color of the Aero Glass, by the way. Right click the desktop, go to personalize, and hit Window Color at the bottom. Then select a color closest to your wallpaper and adjust the opacity accordingly.
Thanks... I would have never thought of that. Looks much better now!
EDIT: The weather, date, and time widgets that Cocop has on his desktop... is that Rainmeter?

I'll tell you right now though, it's a pain in the ass and not worth it.

I know you said it was a resource hog. Are there any other issues to be aware of?
EDIT: Nevermind... I found a gadget that close enough for me. Thanks for all the advice.
