We sort of talked about this in the interrogations, but I'm just sort of curious what sort of music everyone's into (I have my guesses: Ivan = salsa/meringue, Drink = rave/techno/trance)...

Some of my favorite albums at the moment, and some standout songs:
  • Acceptance - Phantoms (Take Cover, Different, In the Cold, Glory/Us)
  • Acceptance - Black Lines to Battlefields EP (Permanent, Seeing is Believing, Black Lines to Battlefields)
  • Bloc Party - Silent Alarm (Helicopter, Banquet, Blue Light)
  • Funeral for a Friend - Hours (All the Rage, Monsters, History)
  • Incubus - Make Yourself (the Warmth, Make Yourself, Drive, Pardon Me)
  • Incubus - Morning View (Nice to Know You, Wish You Were Here, Under My Umbrella, Echo)
  • Jack Johnson - On and On (Taylor, Cookie Jar, Rodeo Clowns, Cocoon)
  • John Mayer - Inside Wants Out (Neon, My Stupid Mouth, Back to You, No Such Thing)
  • Oceansize - Everyone Into Position (No Tomorrow, New Pin, Meredith, Homage to a Shame, Charm Offensive)
  • Rage Against the Machine - the Battle of Los Angeles (Calm Like a Bomb, Sleep Now in the Fire, Born of a Broken Man)
  • the Receiving End of Sirens - Between the Heart and the Synapse (...Then I Defy You Stars, Dead Men Tell No Tales, Planning a Prison Break, This Armistice)
  • the Used - the Used (Take it Away, Let it Bleed, All That I've Got, I Caught Fire)
  • the Used - In Love and Death (the Taste of Ink, Blue and Yellow)
My favorite music area: SEATTLE
Death Cab for Cutie, the Postal Service, Gatsby's American Dream, Acceptance

Second place: HOUSTON
Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Bun B, Chamillionaire, Lil Flip

Third place: BOSTON
the Receiving End of Sirens, the Cadence

P.S. > Van, the Used is from Utah... don't know if you like that type of music, or if you knew that, just thought I'd throw that out there.

I listen to lots of other stuff, but those are the albums that get a whole lot of rotations right now, and I only really chose stuff where I felt I could recommend the whole album (that is, of course, if you like that style of music), not just a few songs, which really disqualified most of the rap I listen to (Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Three 6 Mafia, Slim Thug, Kanye West, Notorious B.I.G., Chamillionaire, Young Jeezy).

What do you guys have in the IPod/CD player/Tape Deck/Turntable right now?

Good topic! Unfortunatley for me I prefer a custom soundtrack over the typical American band any day. I'll probably stand out with my selections. :(

Yakudo -- BRASH's gaming fantasy: Playing Splinter Cell Double Agent while 360 runs "Taiga"

12 Girls Band -- Stop judging them by the cover...

Kimikoh Itoh -- Jazzy

Yeah, I like some of the Used's stuff. I actually saw them in concert, and they were pretty cool. My favorite Mormon singer is the lead singer of The Killers, I've been listening to their album Hot Fuss a bit lately and it's quite good (I still like Donny and Marie Osmond too ). I don't listen to albums, I jack songs I enjoy off the internet and fill my iCube up with songs, so lately I've been listening to a lot of 90's rock (bands like Eagle Eye Cherry, Verve, Bush, Fastball, Gin Blossoms, Oasis, etc.), while I play basketball. For the record my favorite bands are the Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox Twenty. PS I've been listening to a lot of the theme songs from the James Bond films, and they're sweet. If you want to download something cool (and you're a fan of the Godfather), download the Guns N Roses version of the Godfather theme, it's Slash soloing it, and it's amazing.

win

My two new favorite bands are Avenged Sevenfold and Panic! At the Disco. Nice to hear some originality lately. Besides that, mostly rockness. Bands like Chevelle, System, Tool, etc. But really I'll listen to anything.

I like the Panic! at the Disco album, but it's just a little bit too much crazy disco wackiness at times. A lot of fun, though, and very original, you're right about that. Panic! and Fall Out Boy might as well have the same lead singer, since they are good friends, since they sing the same way, and since their lyrics are all inspired by the same stuff (Chuck Palahniuk, etc.). I'll have to check out Avenged Sevenfold.

YES!!! Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy are really good....in fact, I'm listening to Panic! right now...now, I'm like some of the others in the aspect that I really go by bands, not albums...except for Panic...haha. I'll listen to some Linkin Park, though not so much anymore...almost anything...mostly what my girlfriend plays on her computer, haha.

Fallout Boy and All American Rejects are coming to town, so I think I'm going to go to that concert. There ought to be a lot of hot chicks there at the very least.

Well, I'm going to see Soil and American Head Charge on Friday, but I'm dreading that because I don't actually like the bands that much and they are really heavy, meaning I'll probably bruised and battered by the end. Favourite bands atm are Nine Inch Nails, Jimmy Eat World and probably Chevelle. PS Wow, I didn't know that Bloc Party had made it out of England.

I like Jimmy Eat World... lots of varied styles on their albums, and some really good songs. Yessir, Bloc Party has indeed been shipped across the Atlantic, although the album I have is the Japan release because it has some bonus tracks. Hard Fi, on the other hand, has not yet made the transition, but I have their album anyways. I don't like it as much, but there are a few catchy songs (Middle Eastern Holiday is as catchy as it is ridiculously political). Yeah, Bloc Party's kind of a big deal over here, mostly because a couple of their songs appeared on the O.C. a while back... that's like instant credibility for a band these days, I'd love to see the marketing figures for how much that boosts sales. Hell, it works on me- I bought Rooney's album after seeing them on the O.C., and I have all of the O.C. mixes. I'm proud to say, though, that I found Bloc Party on my own, no network TV execs/record label marketing tycoons necessary.

Dude. That is so sad.

dw, I like At the Drive-In, too. What albums in particular are you into? I have In Casino Out and Relationship of Command, and I'm interested which album you think is their best?

I have In Casino Out, Relationship of Command, and Acrobatic Tenement. I like all their stuff, but my favorite is Relationship... its a real good album. If you like ATDI... you'll probably like The Mars Volta, same guitarist/singer... but the Cedric (singer) really opened up his vocal capabilities.

I've heard good things about The Mars Volta, I'll have to check them out. My brother ordered a 30 gig video iPod and had it sent to my house (apparently they wouldn't ship to Puerto Rico). He told me to load the thing up, so the last few days I've downloaded 100 hours of music for the dumb thing (approxmiately 5 gigs; Cuse how the frick do you listen to 20 gigs of music?). Anyway, it's been a pain; iTunes is kind of a goofy program, thank goodness for bitTorrent.

I was so into Bone Thugs ~n~ Harmony, I literally know every word to all their songs which is an incredible feat since they speed rap.
