Good find Blaze. I'm a little upset about the fact that the melee button isn't going to be mapped to a bumper. It makes little sense to me that Bungie feels reloading two weapons independantly is more important than being able to melee without pulling your thumb from the right stick.

Maybe when you're not dual-weilding, the Left Bumper will be the melee attack. Although, that prevents you from meleeing to drop the weapon in your left hand. I don't know, we'll see.

EDIT:

"Galileian" is written on the side of the Spartan Laser. Here's the wikipedia link of an alternate spelling. In my opinion, this is a much better name than Spartan Laser.

After looking at the screenshot of the flag carrier on the back of the ATV, it looks almost as if he is riding it like a chariot. The Spartan is definitely holding onto a handle on the back of the Mongoose, and it also looks like he's standing on some sort of a platform (maybe the rear bumper). Unfortunately his feet are hidden, so we can't see for sure.

I saw a ladder in a concept image. Ladders might be back.

The flag is pointy at the bottom. Melee = stab people in the face.

The Spiker is awesome. Two barrels x two blades = four times more satisfying. I also think this weapon will take the place of the Needler.

There's a green Spartan in a picture who is holding a pistol -- but it looks way too small to be the M6D. What does this mean? Two pistols? Or was that Multiplayer artwork thing total bullshit?

New color choices: Grey, Light Purple, Light Blue. Grey is mine, bitches.

Have a look:

They look the same, right? Almost too similar. I'm guessing that they're currently using place-holder animations. Hopefully that means they're using mo-cap. God I hope they do mo-cap.

Jaime Griesemer is no longer a big fat guy. First Peter Jackson, now him. It seems like everyone in the Halo business is going on the Atkins diet.

I's count on the left bumper being the button you use to switch between grenade types.

Did you guys notice that the SMG is "holstered" on the hip of the peach looking Spartan. So I guess I'm making two points. 1) SMG is back. 2) Small weapons (SMG's, pistols) attach to the hip. Sweetness. O, and one more thing: Maybe I'm a noob but I didn't see how to download the scans from the site Blaze posted. Do you have to register? Is there another place to get them?

You have to enter some code near the top of the page, then after about a minute a little button appears that says "Download Now". It took me a while to find it, too.

After a closer look, the shotgun has definitely had some changes done to it. Not only is the shape a little different, but the top barrel appears to be longer (maybe it'll perform more like the Halo 1 shotgun?) and the flashlight seems to be completely removed replacing it with a secondary barrel. I wonder what that'll do...(assuming I'm right, which I'm probably not)

EDIT: I just noticed the sticky grenade explosion in the background of that Snowbound picture...yum.

Okay, all this stuff looks very bad-ass. So many cool things about it. Having your secondary weapons show up on your character is one of them that I've always loved in every FPS that has done it.

But still, I'm trying very hard to temper my emotions. Halo 1 was amazing, Halo 2 sucked. I don't want to get hyped about about Halo 3 and have it disappoint like Halo 2 did for me. And the fact that some of these screenshots have Spartans in near-exact poses as Halo 2, I'm scared to death that the same crappy physics engine is in place. Please let that not be true.

Bungie can have all the features in the world, but until I actually play the game and feel it in action, I'll try my best not to get excited at all.

Whoa, just noticed that the spikers are like dual-wieldable brute shots. Well, not necessarily, but they have that same design with an underlying blade and all.

Yeah, no kidding. He's lost a ton of weight. Why do you say the Atkins diet? You just kidding around or has it been said that's what Peter Jackson did?

They're diet buddies.

Wait, no, I'm kidding.

You know it kinda does look like nails are flying out, so it's probably that new one.

Let's see: the Covenant have a fetish with the colors blue and purple, so the explosion could look like a plasma grenade blowing up. Also, it's blowing up near a wall, and the new grenade sticks to walls and shit. Either way, it's kickass.

We can't just go around calling the plasma grenade the sticky grenade anymore. Damn bungie for introducing a new grenade that sticks to stuff.

Tell me, Jaime, what was wrong with pistols as spawn weapons? It sure will take some major changes to the AR to make it capable of breaking a sniper spawn camp... Christ... In addition, I think at this point it's very safe to say that the map from the last Humpday challenge was Valhalla, what with the waterfall-fed creek running through the center of it (for Frankie to snipe from) and the very large bases providing a chance for some interior antics. What pic has the pistol in it?

I honestly thought the Humpday map was High Ground...

1) They seemed to be playing with only a handful of players. From what I can tell, High Ground is a mid-size map, unlike Valhalla, which is large map.

2) The coloration of this alleged overhead shot of the map makes me think that it looks pretty damn close to High Ground's color choices:

Word. I just haven't seen any water on that one, except off in the distant background in that first pic. I guess it's been described as having a beach though, right? High Ground, by the way, is Cuse's new playground. Mmm mmm bitches

I don't think this has been addressed yet, but I think we got our first official confirmation on the Master Chief's "new armor" in Halo 3 in the most recent Weekly Update. I'll let you guys find this...or you can wait for the review H3DA will run over the weekend, but I believe it's in the update.

Is that a forest of trees behind the wall?

After looking at it more, I'm almost positive that the H3 engine is just an upgraded version of the Halo 2 engine. Which means probably similar poor gameplay, unless they've revamped the physics completely.

# What if you could save your own movies from Halo 3's single- and multiplayer gameplay and then rewatch them? In Halo 3, you can.

Nobody has commented on this yet. Not a whole lot to say, except "FUCK YEAH." I hope that they have something set up for sharing these videos with friends, sending them in for contests over XBL, or using them to report cheaters automatically.

Oh, that's definitely awesome.

I'd love it if Bungie took their internet integration a step farther and made it to where your videos will be available for download online.

I know what you mean. Like I said, I'm being cautiously optimistic so I don't get overhyped and then let-down again.
