Since these aren't mentioned in this thread and since I haven't done nearly as much keeping up with day-to-day Halo news lately, I actually hadn't seen these. I figure that might be the case for some of you, even though they're from a few weeks ago. Definitely makes me excited about Firefight Versus... assuming they fixed the crippling lag.

Lag shouldn't be an issue. Not only were there six people in the beta, but they were running many more AI routines that would ever be present in the main game.

I think it's funny to imagine a bunch of invisible elites and marines running around the map shooting each other while we're busy with generators. From a programming perspective, that may actually be what's going on :D

That's exactly what was going on, IIRC. Disembodied AI, if you will. I don't know if was also calculating projectiles (and by extension, physics), but the AI, at the very least, was there.

Indeed. I laughed when someone pointed that out. The banhammer worked a little too good.

Right, everything is just happening in memory/data transfer and doesn't manifest itself on the field. I have a hard time believe that the memory is acting out a battle real though, just running various a.i. routines. Still, it's funny to imagine.

Thoughts:

The Spiker firing rate has taken a very large hike. The person who posted it is of course a gigantic douche and as such the projectile drop and speed remains a mystery. A cool little detail, though, the end of the barrel glows red after constant firing.

The Pistol is fired full-speed here, and the increased time between shots is barely noticeable.

(Scorpion reload animation seems to have been toned down, unfortunately. This makes me a very sad panda.)

This is funny on so many levels...

I'm disappointed that the only weapon we haven't seen in either another Halo game or in the Beta is the Concussion Rifle, but I am glad to finally see it in action. The Elites were underpowered in Tier 3 Invasion due to the lack of a grenade launchers, so it's good to see a covey version.

The Pistol is fired full-speed here, and the increased time between shots is barely noticeable.


IIRC, I could fire the pistol as fast as I could pull the trigger (Considering I used single shot rifles exclusively in WaW, that's pretty fast), so almost any cap is an improvement. The entire point of capping the pistol's fire rate was to give the AR/Plasma Repeater the advantage in CQC. The video doesn't show the tweaks on the AR/Plasma Repeater, so we'll have to wait and see.

LOL! What an idiot this guy is to not have sound. Anyway, I have to say I'm disappointed with how the Mongoose looks. I talked to Blaze about it the other night, the Mongoose in H3 looks so much better. Weapons look awesome all-around. Of course, this guy was using the hearts armor effect, geez.
