For those who haven't watched the Legendary video yet, apparently the Legendary ending was scrapped from the game, but it would have changed one small thing in the ending shot. One small thing I wish they would have kept. In the Legendary ending, an eagle was supposed to fly down and land on Six's helmet. Perfect symbolic tribute to the Spartans (as well as many other heroic and patriotic cliches).

Legendary video accessed via Halo Waypoint. It's just a commentary of the entire game, and at the end they state this.

Why was something like that cut? It seems so short and easy that there's really no reason to cut it. Weird.

Maybe their eagle didn't look good. :/

Should have done a flying pig to show some more uniqueness to planet Reach.

I hope the commentary will be buyable at some point, I didn't (and still don't) have enough income to justify spending ?100 on something as unnecessary as the Legendary Edition (though I absolutely would if I could).

Seconded. Did not want a lame statue. Do want to hear the developer commentary. It's annoying that there wasn't another avenue for acquiring the latter.

Word is though that if you find all the data pads, legendary data pads, campaign switches, and elite BOBs that you can trigger the actual Legendary ending. I haven't watched the developer commentary yet, and I'm disappointed that you're required to watch it on Halo Waypoint. Seriously, they're pushing us so hard to go there that instead of just giving us the download they force us to watch it there even though I spent $150 on the game.

This is an unfounded rumor and not true. There is no Legendary ending. Bungie says so, hackers who have decompiled the game say so.

Well some people at HIH think otherwise. In any case, something definitely does happen although it may not be not a Legendary ending. So far only a few of the BOBs have been found and panels though, so I'm assuing we'll find out once the rest are found.

Stupid question... I have googled "Halo BOB". What are elite BOBs?

Hidden Ranger-Class Gold Elites in the Reach campaign which are known as Bobs. BOB in an acronym from Marathon which means Born on Board, as in a human born on board a ship.

I've heard about them and know what they look like, but I've never actually seen one myself. Do they just show up randomly, or do they spawn in specific situations?

Specific locations. They typically run away and avoid combat. If you don't kill them fast enough they despawn.

Any difficulty?

I've seen them on Legendary and possibly Heroic, maybe even Normal. I don't think that they're difficulty-specific, like the Data Pads.

After reading the B.net thread about the group of people who are going to go through the entire game together on Legendary, hittin da switches and smackin BOBitches and grabbing dem pads... I really hope nothing happens. That would be epicest fail of ever.

Well I think you have to be on legendary to see Master Chief at the end, although that is more of an egg than an ending.

And what are they for?

I know that in Legendary, as soon as you start the first mission , if you run quicly enough you might catch a running elite with camo and a Datapad.
is this one of them BOBs?
