Decided to play some Destiny crucible before class. Experienced the most satisfying comeback I will ever facilitate.

Significantly less deserving of eyeballs, but if anyone is curious, here's my Spindle run:

We finished with 8 seconds to spare, definitely one of the most fun things I've done in Destiny.

I applaud your patience because there's no way I'd be doing that.

That doesn't even seem possible with me being so low level. Is it even possible with one or two people doing most of the work?

Do you find the Chaperone to be very effective in Crucible?

Definitely - if you hit the headshot, you can often take out the Party Crashers and Conspiracy Theories before they can reach you. It also pairs _really_ nicely with No Backup Plans if you're running the Destiny Fun Police loadout. I still prefer my Party Crasher, but it's fun to ruin people's days with Chaperone, especially in objective games where they'll be moving more predictably.

So I've been thinking about Destiny a bit and how much it's changed in the two years since it released.

As someone who was a HUGE critic of the vanilla game and its absolutely shitty grind and gameplay loop, would anyone here who still plays the game recommend The Collection to a guy like me who felt burned by the original and is curious about jumping back in? The actual gameplay mechanics were genuinely fun and well made and I loved the art style, but I had no patience or time for the bullshit investment Bungie was asking of players at the time. I know what Destiny's about, there's still a loot grind. I guess what I'm asking is is that grind actually tolerable, and is it actually fun now. I hope there's more to the missions than take Dinklebot RoboNolan to a terminal, listen to him spout shit about deepdark FallenHiveCabal booboo whatfuckingever, then fight off waves of enemies.

I would recommend it. They've made a lot of good quality of life changes and the last two expansions have done a good job integrating story into the game, rather than have most of it be on out of game sites.

That's good to hear, I had no idea what was happening in the base game.

Does anyone still play/plan to play this again on PS4? It'd be nice to have other people to play with if I end up going back.

I think cuse and coco still play regularly, I haven't been lately, but I'll start getting on a little more.

I think they've come a long way. For example, just playing through the story gets you good gear that levels you up. There are many quests, and each one gives you some reward for completing it so you feel like you're in control of the gear that you get. I think overall, it's more predictable in what you have to do to level up as opposed to just depending on RNG. Also, there are many more end-game options; whereas in the original game the only way to get to the top level was the raid, now you can get max level with the raid, trials of osiris, iron banner, etc.
