I like the Military Ranks as an experience measure.

It is very very helpful to see how long people have been playing.

Question:
For everything up to Gunnery Sgt. (I think) you move up a grade every 10 wins.

But after Gunny its no longer 10 wins.

But I also heard you can move up without winning???

Does anyone have a chart for this, or a listings of the Military Ranks and at what amount of games/wins you get them??

The Highest i've seen is Captain, has anyone seen anything higher?

The military ranking system has to do with your experience points (how much you've played the game), not your win/loss ratio.

How many games do you have to play to become a Master Chief?

Don't think you can. These are Army ranks, not the Navy, like the Master Chief.

Seems kinda a-thematic
Spoiler
to use ranks inconsistent with one's avatar.

In case anyone cares, here is a table of modern military rank.

Mattacus,

I don't think they are breaking the fiction. They are using (space) Marine and not Army rankings. So you, as a player, start out as a grunt in the Marine Corps. This doesn't really bother me because in MP you aren't supposed to be the Chief anyways.

Also, a "Master Chief Petty Officer" of the navy is the rank equivalent of a "Master Gunnery Sergeant" or "Sergeant Major" of the Marine Corps.
