Here's the Sanctuary announcement from today.

That's not all! We also announced another one of the six re-mastered, reimagined maps that we're doing for Halo 2: Anniversary in Halo: The Master Chief Collection - Sanctuary. If you're at gamescom this week, you can be one of the first people ever to explore the verdant ruins of this iconic map.

 

Also an MLG Pro gameplay match on Sanctuary.

 

 

The map looks very pretty and it appears that the Anniversary multiplayer plays almost exactly like H2. Cuse, maybe you can tell us if you see any differences.

Any bets on the last map?

My guess is a vehicle map, or Midship.

I was hoping for Terminal but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Yep, there's a clear quality difference between CA graphics like this, and the Sabre stuff like the campaign.

I know, that's why I would definitely buy a season pass if they were to include more updated maps for 2, and even through in some for Halo 1 because it never got this treatment.

Agreed, this looks really great. I really don't want to turn into a spoilsport (because I really am incredibly happy that this is happening)... but both Ascension and Coagulation were terrible map choices. Seeing Sanctuary in all its glory and then following it up with a banshee helping a team go 50-5 on Ascension only makes that more clear to me. :/

Ascension isn't so bad when the Banshee isn't on it. Both maps look gorgeous and seeing someone wreck shit with the best version of the Battle Rifle on Sanctuary got me all tingly in my no-no zone.

I also agree with Kinetic. Acension is also one of my favorite maps and I'm glad it's being brought back. Coag is another matter especially when br shots shot after a certain point.

 

Also, is anyone else getting the feeling that these things they are doing with the H2A maps might be some insight to how Halo 5 might play? Perhaps even going back to how Halo 4 should have been all along?

Lockout images released today - it got the full Ragnarok treatment (blurry, washed out color palette). Looks disappointing enough that I'm not going to bother posting screens. ಠ_ಠ

What's important is that the geometry is almost identical. I think it looks ok, I'm sure it looks much better once you're playing.
