I never thought about being that sneaky, Voc. I'm turned on. You'd need a spare $400 to blow, then you have to get a guarantee that you could return a defective product for your money back, but that sounds quite effective, quick and completely satisfying. :) Have you ever run into problems doing that?
I got your back, Dual.

Why aren't you just keeping the Hard Drive? All your gamesaves along with settings and marketplace content are on the Hard Drive so to me keeping that is the most important thing. I would have no problem just going to Best Buy and swapping out the actual 360 unit for a new one, no one even keeps track of the serial numbers on those things.

Well I want new everything, and I want my game saves on a memory card anyways. It won’t take long to download my arcade titles again. When I take it in, I actually have to demo it and show that it’s dead. When I’m done with that, I just want to leave it on the counter then walk out with a new system. It's not a big deal to me. The thing that pisses me off is that six of you are on Halo 2 and I can't play.

Trust me it's a bitch to get a new hard drive. You're gonna regret it, I've done it before.

I just took my HD off before I sent it.

I can live three weeks, its just incredibly bad timing.

I live about 45 minutes from the nearest Big Box, and I would just rather wait then go into one of those places and deal with the people.

Its cool, I have some other games, plus we just bought out a video store's video game inventory, so I have a batch of PS2s, Xbox and Gamecubes to test, plus lots of good oldies like H1, Ninja Gaiden and some PS2 titles I've wanted to try.

Maybe its good timing?

Perhaps tomorrow a small meteorite or airplane piece will come smashing through the roof and crush the couch I would have been sitting in.

Instead I'll be next to the couch on the PC.

I really don?t see why it would be. I will have all my game saves and my gamer tag on a memory card. Arcade titles download fast, and when they download I can play a game. All my Market Place videos are already on my computer. The only demo I really need to download again would be Lost Planet. Then while that downloads, I can go do something or play a game.

Sending off my 360 soon. They told me to keep the HDD and just send in the unit. When it gets back, I'm getting the 2yr service agreement for $60, thereby assuring that it won't break ever again.

Sent off my 360 today. I'm going to use my Double Agent reservation on FF12 and pick up DA and Gears in a couple weeks when I get my 360.

which part? that he actually reserved Double Agent, or that the sexual ambiguity of FF protagonists is preferable to yet another (and potentially shitty) Splinter Cell game?

I don't know, the whole Final Fantasy series just rubs me the wrong way. You know, the "likes touching little boys" kind of way? You're right, though, I don't see anything special in the new SC either. Transfer your preorder to the new Zelda. At least that way you can be sure about the sexuality of your effeminate, fairy-like avatar. I can assure you, Link pulls more (insert inappropriate sexual metaphor) than you or I could ever dream of. And Zelda is hot. What a babe.

My Brother in Law (StellarSeaWolf) just pre-ordered his Wii, so I will get a chance to try it out before blowing my own cash on it.

I think you're fine, Valor. You have nothing to fear. These kids bought a 360 early to release. Once I actually had funds to make the purchase, I held back to see what problems had come and gone.

The worst of it is out of the way. I bought mine (I think) about 3-4 months after launch, and the only real problems I've had are lockups when going to the dashboard after playing a game. I think even Blaze who was an early buyer said he had the same problem, but it was nothing lethal.

The season for gaming is great too. Fall and Winter keeps the 360 plenty cool.

Brash, you and I bought ours at the same time. Don't feel too secure, there.
