Zyos vs. Ogre 2 on Prisoner (one of the sickest head to heads I've ever seen...)

50K Game 3, Battle Creek CTF, The Dream Team- One of the most well coordinated CTF strategies I've ever seen.

Zyos vs. RedLotusLW, Derelict from WCG 2003 Derelict is one of my favorite levels, and Zyos rapes this 1 v 1, even though it's plasma pistol start roflcopter... (HALO 1 MATCHMAKING w00t!!!)

The Final Match of WCG 2003, Zyos vs. Mat Logan Battle Creek, especially, is really cool.

How to be an OGRE on Hang Em High It's simple, really....

There's a reason why they call Chill Out "OGRE City"

Places to go for more leet movies
Halo Pro
HP FIL4 = movie wh0re- This is an FTP site that the top 4 videos are from, you can only save one vid at a time, and you have to right click and save as, but there are a LOT of videos here. Check out some of those Darkman 1 v. 1's
Video on Demand, from MLG (You can buy it at this page, then you'll be leet like myself and Vanwad1337ion.)

Also, Syracuse's computer has a crapload of Halo 1 videos, and if you guys want to see more, I'll make a YSI...
Syracuse's Halo collection > DrinkNinja's porn collection > Soap's hentai collection (just kidding) > dwchief's gay pr0n collection (not kidding- I saw it when I was in Oregon- ewww)

Ripp0n - been a while since I've watched a Halo video and had my jaw drop...

Go check out Halo-Pro.com and pick up the Un7ouch montage, which is also fantastic, and the Ogres Winter WonderLANd montage, just in case you missed it.

Kind of makes you appreciate how great the gameplay is in Halo 2...

Wtf is up with that double melee bullshit? Seems more like cheapness more than actual skill...just like BXR.

Double melee is the shit. Don't question it's awesomeness.

I see where you're coming from, but there's a big difference. All glitches break the expected skill set of the game to a point. In Halo 1, backpack reloading does the same sort of thing, except on a much more dangerous level- never having to reload? That's scary, but I'll address your complaint, the double melee. If you didn't know how to double melee, it would be cheap. The difference? You do (at least I hope you do- punch, grenade, punch), and in this game that means you have the same chance of hitting the other guy with a double melee as he does of hitting you. It comes down to tactics, and putting yourself in the position to get the upper hand, or stymie his double melee with something like a no-scope or a shotgun to the face. With Halo 1's melee system, you're in complete control. It comes down to who has the skill to aim and hit both melees, and even maybe stick the person in the process. In fact, if you were both to hit eachother simultaneously with a killing blow, you'd both die. While that may frustrate you from the standpoint of the "rules of the game" i.e. one punch at a time, reload with the weapon on-screen, etc. I would hope that it doesn't frustrate you from a skill standpoint, as it clearly rewards the better player (i.e. the one who can aim better and put himself in the better position to make a kill).

How is that different from B-X-R? Aim as well as you'd like, but in Halo 2 nothing guarantees that your melee will connect. It could lunge right up to the person's face and not connect, it could even make the sound of a solid melee and not cause damage, it's out of you're hands beyond a certain point. If you and another player were to connect with a B-X-R simultaneously, the host would choose one of you to get the kill and the other would walk away with shields blinking having been granted an extra few seconds of life by some bullshit random computer decision. By the same token, not only does it not require aiming skill beyond a certain point, B-X-R is somewhat automatic- if you lunge towards a person, the movement pulls your reticule towards their head, making the headshot much easier than you'd expect. The end result is something that should offend both of your sensibilities, the "game rules" and the "reward skill" side of you as a hardcore gamer.

One final contrast between the two: There is a penalty for attempting a double melee, namely you've just dropped a grenade in the nearby vicinity, which is just as deadly to you- you have to avoid it even if you do kill your assailant. There is absolutely no penalty for attempting a B-X-R, and indeed, any time I miss a B-X-R, I have a myriad of strategic options, from continuing to fire for the 3 or 4 more shots needed to kill or pressing B (actually, in my case L) again for a quick double melee, Halo 2 ninja lunge style. Absolutely no penalty. I can press B-X-B-X-R-B-X-B all day, and lunge all over the place, and the only price I'll pay is that I'm lunging around in a completely gay and disorienting manner. Even if I were to need to quickly fire instead of melee, all I'd have to do is press X to cancel the melee once more and Y-Y and my weapon is up and ready for action before you can even say "Wow, this is so much gayer..."

They're completely different phenomenons, from two completely different games.

And both very broken aspects of the game. As much as Cuse wants to make it sound like the glitch in HCE is cool, it shouldn't be there it's a problem just like the problems in H2.

Just watched the Ripp0n vid. Pretty sweet stuff though the double melee is really lame in my opinion.

Actually, I said "lame" not "unfair." I don't care for either. I hope Bungie addresses these exploits in Halo 3.

Sorry it wasn't meant to be directly towards you, but it came out that way a lot with the quoting.

See what I mean about the pro scene on H2? BXRRRXYYRRX... fuck that. You know what kills people the best in Halo 1? R-R-R. Sweet combo, dude.

Team KYS Montage (May not work, if it doesn't it's a direct link from halo-pro.com)

Pretty sick montage, including the first 90 degree glitch kill I've ever seen. My jaw dropped. Whoa.

What a glitchy ass game  Those guys are good. Have you messed around with that 90 degree thing?

Yeah, when I'm trying to do it, I can get kills with it in Campaign, but to do it on a reaction in a Multiplayer game like that... that's fucking nasty. My jaw literally dropped.

Whenever you jump and turn more than (I think) 180 degrees (it might be fewer), or whenever the force of a grenade knocks you into the air (colloquially: a "grenade jump," though often another player's grenade can do the same thing), any shots you fire will go 90 degrees to the right or left (depending on which way you are turning) of where your reticule says you are aiming. A very frustrating glitch, and not the type of thing you "exploit," but those guys have adapted well enough to the system that they were able to recognize a situation where it would occur and aim accordingly. I was impressed (as you've no doubt noticed).
