Kinetic, if you dont own the first DMC, you should go out and find a copy. If you don't own a PS2, you are missing out on an enormous library of freaking amazing games. If you have a choice, get a Japanese PS2 which has an exponentially larger library, if you can imagine that. I played the first DMC, and it was one of the coolest games I ever beat. You will die a lot. Especially on the impossibly difficult settings above normal (which is no slouch). The second game sucked so much ass that I didn't play more than an hour, and I didn't even touch the third one, which, I heard, was pretty cool. I'll go play the demo now. All this reminiscing is getting me pumped.

This is an awesome demo, hands down. I was a huge fan of DMC 1, but the second and third games in the series really soured my taste. However, it seems they've brought back some of the magic with this one. Fantastic graphics, a beefed-up combat system, and the devil arm make it oh-so-much-fun to play. Can't wait to buy the game when it comes out.

^^I figured that out by accident yesterday. Being able to rev up your sword in the middle of a High Time is the epitome of badass. I haven't been able to do it with other moves though. Mattacus, I know many people regard DMC1 as one of the best games of the last generation. I know it's greatness exceeds all boundaries. I just don't have the space for another console and I really don't want to spend the money for a PS2 and one game. This is likely my ignorance of the franchise talking, but I really don't feel like I'm missing out on anything by not playing any of the other DMC games. I'm fine just picking up at #4.

All I'm saying is that if you ever have about $200 of disposable dollars and a sliver of free space, you could do a lot worse than buying one of those skinny ps2s and about a kajillion high quality games. But they don't have Achievements...so I can understand how that would be a huge turnoff.

I loled. Achievements are so pointless.

But therein lies the irony! They are absolutely worthless and without meaning. Yet, in my mind, when choosing to play a game, there is an almost subconscious tick for Achievements. If the game has them, and I haven't unlocked them, I am more likely to play.

I am an Achievements Whore, and I approve this message.

I just wish there weren't points attached to achievements. There's no point (lawlz) to them at all. And now here's something that makes this post on topic: I figured out the reason Berial was kicking my ass in the demo. I just found out about the special moves you can do on him that take away 2-3 health bars away at a time, while also looking especially awesome.

I kinda figured it out the first time I fought him, but it took me the second time to actually beat him. God that fight was awesome. This game is a definite buy for me. And the funny thing about the demo is that the first portion of the game does in fact link up with the second. If you are fast enough, you can actually make your way pass the bridge and onto the snow area. I did, and I was laughing when I went to play the second portion (because this was after my first real play through of Extermination) because I didn't expect it.

I didn't really enjoy the demo, but I didn't want to dampen anyone's hype. Everybody seemed so happy getting excited about it.

Haha. After putting the game on the hardest difficulty, I loved it. I'm ranked no. 84 in the whole world on the last mission. ^_^

I'll tell you now, in order to beat my score, you can't take any damage. At all. Not one hit.
