During the Marine jailbreak portion of the H2 campaign, there are a few puddles of a moving yellow substance (Flood??) on the ground (sorry, I don't remember which floor they are on). Is there any information about what this is? I'm pretty sure this occurs prior to the Flood controlled In Amber Clad crashing into High Charity.

You wouldn't happen to have screens or pics would you. It's hard for me to recall.

Sorry I don't, and I won't have my 360 for a while, but this puddle is on one of the three prison floors, not through the doors leading to the individual cells. I do not remember if it appears before, or after the Master Chief releases the marines.

I can't imagine that High Charity is impeccably maintained throughout and that the Covenant don't use any liquid products whatsoever. (Does everything have to be either glowing covenant blood or glowing covenant plasma weaponry?)

I seem to recall that this puddle moves around freely (not like debris scattered around New Mombassa, for example) and it's the only place I've ever seen this particular phenomenon.

You said it was orange? Is it possible it's one of the sub-forms of the Hunter species whose name I cannot pronounce? The Hunters are conglomerations, hive-minds of many, many small orange, writhing creatures.

No, it's yellowish...maybe yellow-green; when I first saw it, I thought of the Flood.

It certainly is not of Lekgolo origin

If it were a blood, it could be Yanme'e (judging by the color), but blood doesn't freely move around in Halo. Shooting it did not seem to produce any effect on it.

It's probably coolant or something of that nature.

Maybe it's grunt puke from a little too much food nipple.

Are you sure it's a puddle? There's little insectlike things that could be baby infection forms, on the second floor i think, that go from the lift area over towards a locked door to the right. I kept trying to figure if something was up with that but never got anywhere...

Are you sure it's a puddle?

I'm certain it's a puddle; a puddle put in for nothing more than atmosphere.

Look, I like figuring out mysterious crap about the Haloverse as much as the next guy, but (and I mean no offense) you guys are looking way too much into things that don't have any plot value.

I thought they were puddles at first too but if you look close enough (try zooming in with the sniper rifle) you can see they are yellow beetles that swarm around and run away from you if you get close.
