I've been eyeing this TV, which The Wirecutter and several other organizations have recognized as pretty amazing.

I saw one in person and was awe-struck. I have been hovering over purchasing one for approximately a week or two.

Don't even think about it, just get the damn thing. That's the exact one I bought a few months back, the C7 65" and it's absolutely incredible once you get it in your house. It's pretty much universally considered the best TV out at the moment. The colors are great, the black levels are totally unreal, it has very low input lag for games (21 ms), and it's totally future proof as it has all the standards you need (HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision).

That one is at the top of my wishlist.

Plan is to order it on BF if we have a contract on our house.  My surround sound setup won't let me put anything larger than what we have there currently.

Here, take a look at my house:

So if i follow you correctly, you're selling your house, so currently you can't put anything bigger than what you have in your family room because of how you have your speakers setup.

So, in your new house can you have any size you want and that's when you'll get a bigger TV.

I don't think these LGs are going any lower in cost, $2600 is very low for the C7, I got mine earlier this year for $3300. I've seen the black friday ads for Best Buy, Target, and Walmart and they don't have these in there.

The problem with projectors is that they have a lot of input lag so it's not recommended for gaming.

I know. Hence "movie room."  The TV is for my consoles, which will be in another room.

12 times.  Just in the theater...  I saw it 9 times during the initial run.  Then twice when the 3D re-release happened (first showing and last showing).  Then when TFA came out, I did the marathon...

Yeah, both official one-sheets.  I got them before the movie came out, obviously, through the Star Wars Insider.  Notice I have no Ep 2 or 3 posters, despite the AotC teaser poster being absolutely DOPE.  The RotS teaser poster was garbage, though.

The TFA was a total surprise, it's a true double-sided poster right out of the theater.  I made an off-hand comment that I wished I had gotten a "real" poster like I did when TPM came out.  It was my Christmas present last year from my wife.

That TLJ teaser poster is absolutely HOT FIRE.  I want one badly.

That TV is what you want. It's the best on the market right now for OLEDs.

Also... that house, for that price...

I'm just gonna kill myself. The places my wife and I are looking at will require a down payment of at least that much.

You may want to grab that TV no matter what. The price has gone down to $1500 for the B7 55", $1700 for the C7 55", $2300 for the B7 65", and $2700 for the C7 65". I went with the C7 myself because I don't like the silver trim around the screen on the B7, the C7 is a black trim and I find it to be less distracting.

EA may have done us all a favor and finally tipped the boat on loot boxes as Chris Lee, a Democrat from Hawaii, is launching a state investigation into predatory practices in gaming.

It's been a long time coming and I think the mix of a property like Star Wars, the overstepping of EA's progression design, and just some good ol' fashion Internet mobbing finally started to get the attention of people outside the industry.

Jesus, did you read that shit-tier article that CNN put out?  About "looting boxes" -- just ill-informed reporting about VidyaGames in a way that hasn't been seen since the MK days.

And, yes, it is very clearly gambling.  It needs to be removed.  Whatever way we get there, I'm for.  I hope that this extends to the terrible "free" phone app games industry, too.

It's about fucking time.

Purge the industry of its rot and start over, please.

It looks like it's starting to sweep Europe too, so that's nice to see.

The counterpoint people might use against it as not gambling (which I don't agree with) is that with gambling as it's currently defined you're putting money into a pot with the known risk of receiving absolutely nothing. With loot crates you will 100% of the time receive something for your purchase even if most of the time it's garbage. I think that's splitting hairs on a technicality, but that's the fight getting rid of this shit is going to face.

I have no idea why people decide to die on this hill, but to add to your point I would argue that gambling is all about risking an outcome you want vs an outcome you don't. Doesn't matter if the result is trash, losing money, or whatever; the fact of the matter is you're risking money to potentially receive the outcome you want. Anything short of receiving that exact outcome you wanted is a state of loss and thus it's gambling by any definition.

That said, the entire practice was built upon the idea of towing a thin line.

I honestly don't think this should be regulated like gambling, but I'm happy to see this has become a shit-show and at the very least should put some pressure on all the major publishers to tone it down quite a bit.

100% agree with this.  Also, on the "if you get something, it's not gambling" piece, I don't think that's accurate.  I want to say I read something on this where casinos once tried this WAAAY back when by giving people SOMETHING when they lost...  Clearly, that didn't work, so this argument doesn't hold water.
